Born August 16, 1992 Nathan Stanley is the oldest grandson of Ralph Stanley. He quickly picked up the spoons at six years old, playing on stage with the Clinch Mountain Boys. A good looking young man with lots of stage personality, Nathan was a crowd favorite during shows. He began learning mandolin and spent several years as mandolin player for the band. As Ralph II continues to branch out and play more shows with his own band, Nathan has recently began playing rhythm guitar and singing the lead vocal parts with the Clinch Mountain Boys. He has released three albums of his own. His first release was "Sandy Ridge", which featured his mandolin playing, and two gospel albums, "He Suffered For My Reward" and "Where Will You Go?". Nathan loves to collect classic country CDs. His big influences are Dolly Parton, Jimmy Martin and the Stanley Brothers. He is more partial to the older style of traditional country and bluegrass music. Nathan has recently recorded an album of classic country music with a whole string of guests including Ralph Stanley, Ralph Stanley II, Ricky Skaggs, Marty Stuart, Connie Smith, Rhonda Vincent, Little Jimmy Dickens, Larry Sparks, Gene Watson, The Whites, Jim Lauderdale and many more. The record will be out sometime in 2010. |
